1967 Cougar ~
This is
my Father-in-law's 67 Cougar. It was purchased new by him in 1967.
It has a bit shy of 123,000 original miles on it and always has been
garaged. It's a Southern California car with no rust, and it's never
been in an accident. It was re-painted the original Jamaican Yellow
in 1992. It's a 289, 2-bbl V-8 with the 3-speed Merc-O-Matic
transmission. It has the original AM radio and "crystal clock".
The only other option is the bench seat which (believe it or not) was an
extra-cost option over the standard bucket seats. That bench seat,
by the way, makes it one of only 773 bench seat Cougars out of a total of
150,893 Cougars produced in 1967. In case you're wondering, yes the
sequential turn signals still work, as do the headlight doors. It's not perfect and the driver's side of the seat
needs some repair, but it is repairable and in otherwise good condition.
There are a few minor paint chips and parking lot dings, but as you can
see in the photos, nothing major. It has been well-maintained and was never abused or
raced. The engine does have a lifter ticking, but otherwise runs
well, drives good and gets lots of looks.
If you buy this car, you can spend a very few bucks on it and have a
head-turning daily driver, or it would make a beautiful start if you
wanted to do a full restoration. SOLD!
Okay guys, this is the first time I've actually put a car up on my own
"For Sale" pages here on Gasser Madness.
