1967 EL CAMINO. ONE OF THE BEST YEARS AND THIS ONE HAS HAD A LOT OF EXTRA TIME AND MONEY SPENT ON IT. STARTING WITH A RUST FREE ARIZONA CAR, THIS WAS MADE TO BE A 427 CLONE AND LIVES UP TO THE LEGEND, IT HAS THE 427 AND SS EMBLEMS AND TRIM PIECES ON IT BUT IS NOT A 427 SS CAR. THIS CAR WAS BROUGHT INTO IT'S PRESENT CONDITION IN THE LAST 2 YEARS WITH ONLY ABOUT 1000 MILES SINCE COMPLETION. THE BODY AND INTERIOR WERE BROUGHT UP TO DATE DURING THE FRAME-OFF RESTORATION, ALL BODY PANELS ARE ORIGINAL GM PARTS AND THE HOOD IS A CHEVELLE SS REPRODUCTION CUT TO FIT THE DUAL CARB SETUP. NEXT THE WORK ON THE DRIVETRAIN WAS DONE. A LONG LIST OF HI-PERFORMANCE ITEMS WERE PUT INTO THE MOTOR. I HAVE A COMPLETE LIST FOR THOSE SERIOUS BIDDERS THAT I CAN EMAIL. HERE IS A SHORT LIST: 454 BIG BLOCK DONE .30 OVER WITH MANLEY H-BEAM RODS, SPEED DOME 10.7:1 PISTONS, ARP MAIN STUD KIT, LIGHTWEIGHT CRANK, CHILDS AND ALBERT DURAMOLLEY RINGS. MELDON 8 QT PAN WITH WINDAGE TRAY AND HIGH VOLUME PUMP. EDELBROCK PERFORMER ALUMINUM HEADS WITH A WEILAND INTAKE AND HOLLEY 450 RACE CARBS. COMPLETE ENGINE WAS BALANCE ASSEMBLED AND EXTENSIVE PORTING DONE TO THE INTAKE AND HEADS. HOOKER SUPERCOMP COATED HEADERS ATTACHED TO A 3" EXHAUST AND 3.5" COLLECTORS WITH A BORLA STAINLESS STEEL MUFFLERS AND CROSSOVER. MSD BILLET PRO DIST. BLASTER 2 COIL AND 6AL CONTROL BOX, MOTOR IS SET TO RUN 6.800 RPM. ENERGY SUSPENSION MOTOR MOUNTS. WEILAND TEAM G HIGH VOLUME WATER PUMP, DUAL ELECTRIC FANS SET IN SERIES PULLING THROUGH AN ALUMINUM RADIATOR. HOLLEY FUEL PUMP, FRAM FUEL FILTER CANISTER AND FUEL LINES ARE BRAIDED FROM THE TANK FORWARDS. TAYLOR IGNITION WIRES, POLISHED M/T VALVE COVERS. TRANSMISSION IS A MUNCIE ROCK CRUSHER M-22, HURST SHIFTER, LAKEWOOD BELLHOUSING AND BLOCK SAVER. DUAL FRICTION CENTERFORCE CLUTCH (FRESH) DRIVESHAFT BUILT TO HANDLE 850 LBS OF TORQUE WITH A DRIVESHAFT LOOP. REAR END IS A CHEVY 12 BOLT POSI WITH AUBURN 3.90 GEARS, REAR END SUPPORT COVER, AND C CLIP ELIMINATOR KIT. SUSPENSION IS ALL NEW FRONT TO REAR, HOTCHKISS SPRINGS, KYB SHOCKS ENERGY BUSHINGS WITH AIR LIFT DRAG BAG INSTALLED IN THE COILS. BOTTOM LINE: THIS CAR IS SET UP TO RUN FAST AND RESPOND PERFECT. IT STARTS RIGHT UP, IDLES LIKE IT SHOULD WITHOUT A LOT OF SHAKING. REVS UP VERY QUICKLY, THE CARBS ARE SORTED OUT AND WORK PERFECT. NO PROBLEMS WITH OVER HEATING AS THIS CAR HAS BEEN SET UP WITH DUAL FANS AND A OVERRIDE SWITCH, BRAKES ARE DISC UP FRONT WITH LINE LOCK AND EXTRA LONG LUG BOLTS. IT IS VERY FAST AND POWERFUL. TAME ENOUGH TO DRIVE TO CRUISE NIGHT, YET IT STILL TURNED 11.90 SEC. @112 MPH AT THE STRIP. THIS CAR HAS A VERY REASONABLE RESERVE THAT IS THOUSANDS LESS THAN WHAT WENT INTO BRINGING THIS CAR INTO THIS CONDITION.
